Ever since Google Analytics hid keyword information and displayed '(not provided)' - web site owners have felt like they are flying in the dark. Previously you would look in Google Analytics to find out what keywords people use to find your content. Once you know the keywords you would improve existing pages to better target them, and create new content around related keywords.

Google Search Console use to be a tool to check your web site was technically working, but more recently Google have improved it to include keyword and page information. You can now see a lot of your sites keyword information you use to be able to get out of Google Analytics.
But there are two problems:

  1. Google Search Console only makes the past 90 days worth of data available
  2. The user interface is pretty clunky and difficult to use

SanityCheck fixes both these issues by archiving your data, and giving you an easy to use interface for looking at your keyword information.

How does it work?

SanityCheck.IO integrates with Google Search Console to suck the data out and make better use of it.

We have spent countless hours staring at the numbers in Google Search Console and Analytics - creating our own spreadsheets to track things and work out what changes to make to our sites. is a product built on the back of those manually put together spreadsheets. Instead of doing all the number crunching and graph drawing manually - SanityCheck.IO will do it automatically for you. Saving you time and giving you great insights on how to make your website better and get more organic search traffic from Google.

Frequently Asked Questions

1, What access to Google Search Console does SanityCheck require?

SanityCheck needs 'Restricted' access to your website's Google Search Console property. This is read only access. SanityCheck will not change any settings or data in Google Search Console.

2, What data does SanityCheck store?

At the current time SanityCheck archives:

  • Your sites overall impressions, clicks, click through rate, and position in the Google Search Results
  • The top 5,000 keywords and pages for your site each day with associated impression, click, ctr and position data
  • Keyword rankings and stats for the keywords you add
  • For any SEO test you create we store a 12 week period of data

This allows you to perform SEO tests, track keyword rankings, and gives you an overall picture of how your site is doing over a longer term than the 90 days Google Search Console allows.

We currently perform Live queries on the data in Google Search Console to bring content opportunities to your attention.
